What is Ustell?

Ustell is a prescription, combination brand-name drug that is classified as a urinary antispasmodic drug. It is used to relieve symptoms of bladder irritation, such as pain, discomfort, and frequent urge to urinate, caused by tract infection or diagnostic procedure.

Ustell is a combination of five drugs, and it comes in capsule form to be taken orally. Ustell contains hyoscyamine, methenamine, methylene blue, phenyl salicylate, and sodium biphosphate. Hyoscyamine provides relief from muscle spasms; Methenamine and methylene blue fight bacteria in the urinary tract and bladder; phenyl salicylate is a mild pain reliever; sodium biphosphate is a form of phosphorus, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body and necessary for normal functioning of the body.

How do I use Ustell?

Ustell capsules should be taken as directed by your doctor or as indicated on the package. Consult with your doctor for specific dosage instructions for this drug for the treatment of your condition.

What if I forget to use a dose of Ustell?

Take your missed dose of Ustell as soon as your remember to take it unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

Before using Ustell, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to Ustell or any other medications

What are the possible side effects of using Ustell?

Contact your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or become severe:

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Dry mouth

  • Flushing

  • Severe allergic reaction (hives, itching, rash, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, and/ or swelling of the face, mouth, lips, or tongue)

  • Difficulty urinating

  • Dizziness

  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat

  • Blurred vision

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of these serious symptoms:

Warnings

If you are taking an antidepressant or psychiatric medication while using Ustell, contact your doctor immediately if you have signs of a serious drug interaction, including: memory problems, confusion, feeling hyperactive, loss of coordination, muscle twitching, shivering, sweating, diarrhea, fever.
