What is Evoclin?

Evoclin contains the antibiotic clindamycin, and it is prescribed to treat acne vulgaris. It works by killing bacteria on the skin and preventing its growth.

How do I take Evoclin?

Evoclin is a topical foam that is applied to the face once a day; follow all the directions that accompanied the canister. Wash your face with warm water and an approved cleanser and thoroughly dry. Dispense the foam onto the clear cap or a cool surface and pick up small amounts and gently massage it into the skin until it disappear. Do not dispense the foam directly onto the face or hands as it begins to break down on contact. Wash your hands after application. Do not allow the foam to come in contact with eyes, mouth, or mucus membranes. Do not use Evoclin near an open flame or smoke while using this medication.

What if I forget to take a dose of Evoclin?

If you forget to apply your scheduled dose of Evoclin, do so as soon as your remember and are able. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the one missed and resume the regular schedule. Do not increase amount applied or change the regimen to make up for one that was missed.

What happens if I overdose on Evoclin?

Evoclin is for topical application only. If it is accidentally ingested, contact the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If the individual has stopped breathing or lost consciousness, contact Emergency Services at 911.

Before taking Evoclin, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to clindamycin or any of the ingredients in Evoclin

  • You are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are nursing a child

  • You are taking any prescription or non-prescription medications, vitamins, or supplements

  • You are using other topical medications

  • You are taking erythromycin

  • You have, or have had, severe diarrhea caused by antibiotics, ulcerative colitis, enteritis, or inflammatory bowel disease

  • You have, or have had, allergies, eczema, or asthma.

What are the possible side effects of taking Evoclin?

Some people have reported side effects after using Evoclin. Less severe symptoms include reddening of the skin, oily skin, new pimples or blemishes, itching or burning at the application site, headache, or dry or peeling skin. If any of these conditions persist or worsen, contact your healthcare provider.

Severe side effects requiring immediate medical attention include signs of an allergic reaction (rash, hives, itching, peeling or blistered skin; swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, or tongue; difficulty breathing or swallowing), diarrhea, stomach cramps, or loose or bloody stools.

How do I store Evoclin?

Keep Evoclin tightly sealed in its original container, out of the reach of the reach of children and away from extremes of temperature and humidity. Do not allow the canister to freeze or expose it to temperatures exceeding 125°F. Do not puncture or incinerate the canister, and dispose of any unused or expire quantities according to the instructions of your pharmacist.

Evoclin is flammable; do not smoke or use near an open flame. Contact your doctor if you become pregnant while taking this medication. Not for use on children under 12 without a doctor’s permission.

Brand Names
