About EnLyte

What is EnLyte?

The multivitamin EnLyte contains folic acid, folinic acid, and L-methylfolate (all B vitamins). It may be prescribed to treat depression related to low folate levels. Because EnLyte is natural, it may also be prescribed to increase folate levels in women who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.

How do I take EnLyte?

EnLyte comes as a softgel capsule that is typically taken once a day on an empty stomach. Adhere to any instructions your doctor gives you for taking this multivitamin.

What if I forget to take a dose of EnLyte?

You can take the missed dose if you remember it shortly after the time you normally take your prescribed dose. If it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Never take two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose on EnLyte?

An EnLyte overdose is not expected to cause serious adverse effects in adults. However, this supplement contains iron, and iron-containing products can cause fatal poisoning in children under the age of 6. If a child in your home has accidentally ingested EnLyte, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 right away.

Before taking EnLyte, tell your doctor if:

You are allergic to any of the ingredients in this supplement

You have any other food or drug allergies

You are taking any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs or supplements

You have a personal or family history of bipolar disorder

You have or have had cancer

You have a bleeding disorder

You are breastfeeding

What are the possible side effects of taking EnLyte?

EnLyte may cause mild nausea, a tingling or prickling sensation, drowsiness, or headaches. Tell your doctor if you have any of these side effects and they become severe, or if you experience any other adverse reactions while taking EnLyte. If you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction, get emergency medical attention.

How do I store EnLyte?

Store EnLyte at room temperature (between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Brief storage at 59-86 degrees Fahrenheit is permitted. Keep your multivitamins in a tightly sealed container, and don’t leave the container anywhere that children or pets could access.

Warnings

If you have depressive symptoms, your doctor should screen you for bipolar disorder before prescribing EnLyte. If you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, you and your doctor should discuss the possible risks of taking EnLyte.
