Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. An additional patient information leaflet is available with this medicine. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. THIS MEDICINE SHOULD only be used in the nose. Do not get it in your eyes or mouth. If you get it in your eyes, rinse at once with cool tap water. OPEN THIS MEDICINE by pulling the plastic tag on the neck of the dropper bottle. Break the security seal and remove the plastic cap. Twist off the small, ridged seal from the top of the dropper. Save this to reseal the bottle to prevent leakage between doses. FILL THE SOFT PLASTIC RHINAL TUBE (nose tube) with the correct dose of medicine. Insert the tip of the medicine dropper bottle downward into the end of the nose tube that is marked with an arrow. Squeeze the medicine from the dropper bottle into the nose tube until the medicine reaches the correct dose mark on the nose tube. Use constant pressure when squeezing the dropper bottle to avoid air bubbles in the tube. Remove the dropper bottle from the nose tube by withdrawing it quickly downward. FOR ADULTS AND OLDER CHILDREN: Hold the nose tube about three-fourths of an inch from the end and gently insert it into 1 nostril until the tips of your fingers touch your nose. Place the other end of the tube in your mouth. Hold your breath, tilt your head back slightly, and blow through the nose tube with a short, strong puff. FOR VERY YOUNG CHILDREN: Place the nose tube only far enough into the child's nostril so that the medicine does not run out. An adult may need to blow the medicine into the child's nose. AFTER USE, replace the top of the ridged seal onto the tip of the dropper bottle. Cover the resealed dropper bottle with the plastic cap. Wash the tube in water and shake thoroughly until no more water is left. Allow the tube to air dry. It can be used again for the next dose. STORE THIS MEDICINE in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 degrees C). Do not freeze. Storage for up to 3 weeks at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children and away from pets. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include confusion; drowsiness; severe or persistent headache; sudden, unexplained weight gain; or trouble urinating. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking carbamazepine, chlorpromazine, lamotrigine, narcotic analgesics (eg, codeine), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen), oxybutynin, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (eg, fluoxetine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, imipramine). Tell your doctor if you take antihistamines (eg, diphenhydramine) or medicines to treat blood pressure or heart problems. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including nasal problems (eg, scarring, swelling, congestion, blockage, discharge, severe runny nose), severe drowsiness, cystic fibrosis, dehydration, fever, severe infection, vomiting or diarrhea, recent surgery in the head area, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you have a history of nasal surgery, kidney problems, heart attack or other heart problems (eg, heart blood vessel problems, heart failure), blood clots (eg, in the legs, lungs, eyes), blood circulation problems, stroke, high or low blood pressure, blood electrolyte problems (eg, low blood sodium levels), swelling or fluid retention, or a condition that causes you to be very thirsty. Tell your doctor if you are or will be exposed to very hot weather, are physically active, or drink a lot of water or fluids. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have moderate to severe kidney problems, low blood sodium levels, or a history of low blood sodium levels. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.

SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include cough, facial flushing, mild stomach cramps, nosebleed, runny or stuffy nose, or sore throat. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience calf or leg pain, tenderness, or swelling; chest pain; confusion; coughing up blood; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; loss of appetite; mood or mental changes (eg, agitation, irritability); muscle weakness, spasms, or cramps; nausea; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; personality changes; recurrent or severe nosebleeds; restlessness; seizures; severe or persistent headache or dizziness; slurred speech; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; swelling of the head of the penis; unusual tiredness or sluggishness; unusual weight gain; vision problems; or vomiting. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur.
