How do I take Cosopt?

Cosopt is a topical ophthalmic solution that is administered using an eye dropper, usually twice daily. Follow the dosing instructions that accompanied the prescription. Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or let it touch the eye. • You are taking any prescription or non-prescription medications, vitamins, or supplements, especially another topical eye medication, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, salicylate pain relievers, diuretics, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, clonidine; digoxin, or quinidine

• You have, or have had, asthma, any lung disease, myasthenia gravis, or severe allergic reactions

• You have, or have had, hyperthyroidism or heart, liver, or kidney disease

• You wear contact lenses

What are the possible side effects of taking Cosopt?

Some individuals have reported side effects after using Cosopt. Less severe side effects include dry, itchy, watery, burning or stinging eyes, changes to taste, and dizziness. If any of these conditions persist or worsen, contact your doctor for Cosopt patient assistance. Severe side effects requiring immediate medical attention include signs of an allergic reaction (hives, rash, itching, swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, or tongue, or difficulty breathing or swallowing), pink eye, blurry vision, muscle weakness, or a red or swollen eyelid.
