Carbamazepine is a generic anticonvulsant drug that is used to control certain types of seizures in patients with epilepsy. It is used alone or in combination with other medications. This drug works by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

Carbamazepine is also used to treat trigeminal neuralgia, which is a medical condition that causes facial nerve pain. This drug is also sometimes used to treat certain types of mental illness, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), drug and alcohol withdrawal, restless legs syndrome, diabetes insipidus, and certain pain syndromes.

How do I use Carbamazepine?

Carbamazepine is available in several forms: as a tablet, a chewable tablet, an extended-release (long-acting) tablet, an extended-release capsule, and a liquid to be taken orally. osage and use for this drug varies depending on which form of Carbamazepine you are taking, and which condition you are treating.
