What is Bionect?

Bionect is a topical medication that contains hyaluranic acid and is used to dress wounds or control redness and inflammation. Hyaluranic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the body and it works in several ways to promote the healing of tissue, some of which include eliminating free radicals, increasing cell migration and granulation tissue (scabbing) and by controlling inflammation.

How do I take Bionect?

Wash your hands and the area where you will apply Bionect as instructed to do so by your doctor. Gently apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area(s), and then cover the area with a bandage if your doctor has told you to do so. Bionect is normally applied 2 or 3 times daily. Your doctor will recommend the amount and frequency you should apply Bionect to treat your particular condition.

What if I forget to apply a dose of Bionect?

If you miss an application of Bionect, apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular routine. Do not apply two consecutive doses to make up for a missed one.

What happens if I overdose on Bionect?

Overdose on Bionect is not likely. If someone has accidentally ingested this medication, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222

Before taking Bionect, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients in Bionect, or if you have any skin allergies.

  • You have sensitive skin and have had a reaction to other skincare products.

What are the possible side effects of taking Bionect?

Side effects from using Bionect are rare. Tell your doctor immediately if you have an allergic reaction. Signs include rash, itching, swelling and hives. If you experience any unusual reactions, report them to your doctor as soon as possible.

How do I store Bionect?

Bionect creams and gels can be stored for up to 24 months at room temperature. Keep Bionect tightly closed in its container, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
