About ProAir RespiClick

What is ProAir RespiClick?

ProAir RespiClick is the bronchodilator albuterol sulfate in powder form, delivered using a proprietary breath-activated rescue inhaler. This medication is used to treat or prevent bronchospasms in those with a reversible obstructive airway disease as well as to prevent bronchospasms caused by exercise. It works by relaxing air passageway muscles to increase the flow of air to the lungs.

How do I take ProAir RespiClick?

The medicine in the ProAir RespiClick is delivered orally using a special rescue dilator. The dosing regimen will be determined by your doctor. Follow the instructions that accompany the ProAir RespiClick inhaler exactly. If you have never used this type of inhaler before, ask your healthcare provider for assistance until you are comfortable with using it. Do not open the inhaler until you are ready to use it; when using the inhaler, open the cover until you hear a “click” to ensure it has been activated. Before placing your lips around the mouthpiece, exhale completely. Once your lips are around the mouthpiece, inhale deeply, until your lungs are full. Hold your breath for about ten seconds before exhaling. Check the counter on the back of the device to make sure you received a dose. Close the protective cap. Refill the prescription when the dosage indicator shows “20.”

What if I forget to take a dose of ProAir RespiClick?

If you are on a dosing schedule and you forget to take your scheduled dose of ProAir RespiClick, do so as soon as your remember and are able. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, take only that dose and resume the regular schedule. Do not increase dosage or change the regimen to make up for one that was missed.

What happens if I overdose on ProAir RespiClick?

If an overdose of ProAir RespiClick is suspected, contact the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If the individual has stopped breathing or lost consciousness, contact Emergency Services at 911. Sign of an overdose include chest pain, sleep problems, dizziness, dry mouth, excessive fatigue, tachycardia, arrhythmia, headache, malaise, lack of energy, nausea, agitation, seizures, or body tremors.

What are the possible side effects of taking ProAir RespiClick?

Some people have reported side effects after taking ProAir RespiClick. Less severe symptoms include coughing, headache, uncontrollable shaking, painful muscles or bones, nausea, nervousness, irritated throat, or vomiting. If any of these conditions persist or worsen, contact your doctor.

Severe side effects requiring immediate medical attention include signs of an allergic reaction (rash, hives, itching, peeling or blistered skin; swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, or tongue; difficulty breathing or swallowing), hoarseness, tachycardia, or arrhythmia.

How do I store ProAir RespiClick?

Keep the ProAir RespiClick tightly sealed in its original container, out of the reach of the reach of children and away from extremes of temperature and humidity. The ProAir RespiClick must be kept dry at all times; do not wash the mouthpiece or allow it to get wet. Dispose of any unused or expired doses according to the instructions of your pharmacist.

Contact your doctor if your condition worsens while taking the medication in ProAir RespiClick. Do not take extra doses of this medication. ProAir RespiClick may cause tachycardia, increased blood pressure, or other heart-related problems. Do not open or close the cap in the inhaler without taking a dose as doing so will waste one each time.
