How do I take Omeclamox-Pak?

Each Omeclamox-Pak contains a 10 dose packs of amoxicillin, clarithromycin and omeprazole, one for each day. Each pack is divided into AM and PM doses. Twice daily, patients should take one omeprazole pill, one clarithromycin pill and two amoxicillin pills. These pills should be taken at the same time every day before meals. Always follow your doctor’s instructions when taking medication.

What if I forget to take a dose from the Omeclamox-Pak?

If you miss a dose from your Omeclamox Pak, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular schedule. Ask your doctor if you should take your missed dose on the 11th day.

What happens if I overdose on Omeclamox?

Possible signs of overdose on the medications in the Omeclamox Pak include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, confusion, drowsiness, elevated heart rate, headache and dry mouth. If you think you or someone else has overdosed on Omeclamox, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

Before taking the Omeclamox-Pak, tell your doctor if:

• You are taking any prescription or nonprescription medications, vitamins or supplements, especially anticoagulants, antiarrhythmics, antivirals, statins, benzodiazepines, other gastrointestinal medications, antibiotics, colchicine, tacrolimus, sildenafil, ergotamine, hormonal contraceptives, dihydroergotamine and pimozide.

• You have or have had any other gastrointestinal disorders.

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• You are allergic to or have ever had reactions to any of the ingredients in the Omeclamox-Pak.

• You have kidney or liver disease.

• You have arrhythmias or an irregular heartbeat.

What are the possible side effects of taking Omeclamox?

Common side effects from taking Omeclamox-Pak include diarrhea, headache, upset stomach and changes in taste perception. Serious side effects that should be reported to your doctor immediately include severe diarrhea or diarrhea with blood, muscle or bone pain, confusion, vomiting, trouble breathing, fever, changes in urination, severe abdominal pain, fatigue and unusual bleeding, blistering or bruising. Tell your doctor if your symptoms from ulcers do not improve after treatment.

How do I store the Omeclamox-Pak?

Store the Omeclamox-Pak at a temperature between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Protect your medication from light and moisture and keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Warnings

Antibiotics can result in yeast infections. If you experience signs of a yeast infection, tell your doctor. You may need to use backup birth control while taking this medication. This medication can also cause false positives in urine tests for blood sugar.
