About Natroba

What is Natroba?

Natroba is in the pediculides class of drugs. It is applied to the scalp to stop head lice infestations by killing the lice. It has been approved for use in children over the age of 6 months and adults under the age of 65.

How do I take Natroba?

Natroba should be used in one or two treatments. If you need a second treatment, wait one week after the first treatment to apply more of the Natroba suspension. For each treatment, use enough Natroba to completely coat your dry hair surrounding your scalp. You will need to completely cover all the head lice in order to stop the infestation. Leave the suspension in your hair for ten minutes before rinsing it out. Wash your hands when you’re done.

What if I forget to take a dose of Natroba?

Since Natroba is only used for one or two treatments, forgetting a dose should not be an issue.

What happens if I overdose on Natroba?

It is unlikely that you will overdose on Natroba by applying it to your hair and scalp; however, it can be harmful if swallowed. If you or your child swallows any of the Natroba medication, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 and seek emergency medical attention.

Before taking Natroba, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to this or any other medications

  • You are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medications or supplements

  • You have any conditions that cause skin sensitivity

  • You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant

What are the possible side effects of taking Natroba?

Serious side effects of Natroba are rare, although some people with sensitive skin may experience some scalp redness or irritation. If severe skin irritation occurs while you are applying the suspension, rinse it out with water immediately. If you have any side effects that are persistent or bothersome, tell your doctor. Get emergency medical help if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, including hives, trouble breathing, or swollen tongue, lips, throat or face.

How do I store Natroba?

Keep Natroba at room temperature (between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit), away from heat and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. Make sure the bottle is tightly sealed and out of reach of children and pets. If you have Natroba suspension that has expired, ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of it.

Warnings

Natroba is only intended to treat head lice and should only be used on your scalp and hair near your scalp. Do not get it in your eyes, mouth, or vagina. If you do get any in your eyes or mouth, rinse it out immediately and contact your doctor. In order for Natroba to be most effective, you should wash all items in your home that may have been infested with lice—such as clothes, bedsheets, and tools—in hot water. Keep checking everyone in your household for lice for a week after finishing the treatment.

Brand Name

Natroba is a brand name drug. It has a generic equivalent called spinosad. The generic drug may have a slightly lower retail price, but with a Natroba coupon from FamilyWize, you may actually be able to get the brand name drug for less.

“I have been able to afford and purchase my prescribed medications for prices much better than using my insurance. I am trying to understand how that is possible. Anyway, I highly recommend”
