About Micardis

What is Micardis?

Micardis comes in tablet form to be taken by mouth as directed by your doctor, and Micardis tablets are available in strengths of 20 mg, 30 mg, and 80 mg.

Micardis is a prescription brand drug that is used either alone or in combination with other drugs to treat hypertension or high blood pressure. Micardis 80 mg is used to decrease the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in patients age 55 or older who are at high risk for cardiovascular disease.

Micardis is classified as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and it works by blocking substances that tighten the blood vessels, which leads to the blood vessels relaxing, easier blood flow and the heart pumping more efficiently.
