Fenofibrate is often prescribed along with a statin cholesterol-lowering medication such as atorvastatin to further reduce LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol. The combined use of fibrates and statins will result in lower LDL and VLDL levels as well as raised HDL levels, but will also raise the risk of side effects. How do I take fenofibrate?
