How do I use Estazolam?

Estazolam tablets are to be taken orally, and this drug is typically prescribed to be taken as needed at bedtime or if you have already gone to bed and you are having trouble falling asleep.

This drug will make you sleepy. Plan to take this drug before you are going to bed and plan to stay in bed for a full night’s sleep. Do not take this drug if you will not be able to stay in bed for a full night’s sleep.

• you use or have ever used street drugs

• you overuse or have ever overused prescription medications

• If you are age 65 or older, consult with your doctor about the risks of taking Estazolam, as there are other medications that are safer for older adults to take to treat the same condition.

• This medication may cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

• Do not drink alcohol while using this medication, as alcohol may worsen the drowsiness effect of Estazolam.

• The use of tobacco products and cigarette smoking may decrease the effectiveness of this medication.
