What is Effient?

How does Effient work?

Effient works as an antiplatelet, a drug that will keep your platelets from forming a clot. Clots can block both your arteries and the stent installed during angioplasty surgery. Taken as a once daily pill, Effient thins your blood to keep platelets from clumping.

How do I take Effient?

Effient is prescribed as a pill. Once you’re prescribed Effient, get a coupon for 75% off your local pharmacy’s price from Help Rx. To take Effient, patients take an initial dose of 60 mg, and then continue with doses of 10 mg once a day. Doctors may prescribe a 5 mg dose for patients who weigh less than 60 kg. You can take Effient with or without food.

What if I forget to take a dose of Effient?

If you miss a dose of Effient, take it as soon as you remember that day. If you don’t remember until the following day, do not take a double dose in a single day. Take your regular daily dosage, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Be sure to consult with your doctor if you miss a dose.
