About Bromsite

What is BromSite?

BromSite contains the active ingredient bromfenac, an NSAID. It helps reduce eye swelling and pain after cataract surgery.

How do I use BromSite?

Wash your hands before each BromSite application. If you wear contacts, take them out and leave them out for at least 10 minutes after your application. Tilt your head back and gently hold down your lower eyelid to create a pocket. Squeeze the prescribed number of drops into your eye. Follow your doctor’s dosing instructions carefully; the standard dose is one drop in each affected eye twice a day for 14 days, starting a day before your surgery.

What if I forget to use a dose of BromSite?

Apply the forgotten eye drops as soon as you remember and are able. If it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Don’t double the number of eye drops you normally apply to catch up.

What happens if I overdose on BromSite?

You are not expected to overdose on BromSite, even if you apply more than usual to your eyes. However, if you or someone in your home accidentally swallows some of this medication, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 to find out what to do.

Before using BromSite, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to this or any other NSAIDs, or you have a sulfite allergy

  • You are using any other medications or over-the-counter eye drops

  • You have asthma

  • You have diabetes

  • You have dry eye syndrome

  • You have rheumatoid arthritis

  • You have a bleeding or blood clotting disorder

  • You have more than one eye surgery scheduled

  • You are breastfeeding or pregnant

What are the possible side effects of using BromSite?

BromSite may make your eyes more sensitive to light or cause you to see brief flashes of light in your vision. Some people have also reported mild eye irritation, feeling as if something is stuck in their eyes, or headaches after using this drug. Stop using BromSite and call your doctor right away if you experience any unusual vision changes, severe eye discomfort or pain, slow healing after your surgery, or eye redness, swelling, or bleeding.

How do I store BromSite?

Store your BromSite medicine at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly sealed and away from children and pets. When the bottle is open, keep the eye dropper tip away from all surfaces to prevent contamination.

Warnings

BromSite may cause temporarily blurred vision, so don’t drive or perform other tasks that require clear vision until you know how the medicine affects you. Don’t use other eye medications while using BromSite unless your doctor gives you permission to do so.

Brand Names

BromSite is only available under this one brand name. If you need this medicine after cataract surgery but are worried about paying for it out of pocket, remember to get a free BromSite coupon from FamilyWize. You may be able to take up to 75% off the medicine’s cost.
