About Betopic S

What is Betopic S?

Betopic S contains a type of beta blocker drug that reduces eye pressure. It works by slowing the production of aqueous humor, a liquid inside the eye. Although painless, if eye pressure caused by open angle glaucoma is not reduced, it can eventually result in damage to the optic nerve and loss of eyesight. Betopic S is not a cure for glaucoma.

Tilt your head back and pull your eyelid down with a finger to form a small pouch. Instill one drop of the solution into the pouch. Close your eye for at least a minute and gently press your tear duct shut by pressing on the corner of your eye near your nose. If you have been prescribed this medication for both eyes, repeat the same on the other side. Replace the cap on the bottle when finished.

What if I forget to take a dose of Betopic S?
