Keep your tablets in their blister pack until you are ready to take your dosage. Open the package and peel back the foil for the pill you are going to take. Do not attempt to push the tablet through the foil. Using dry hands, place the tablet in your mouth and allow it dissolve without chewing. You may use liquid to help you swallow if necessary.

Before taking Adzenys XR-ODT, tell your doctor if:

Common side effects include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, mood changes, feeling restless or nervous, sleep problems (insomnia), dry mouth, unusual or unpleasant taste in the mouth, runny nose, nosebleeds, increased heart rate, headache, dizziness, itching, or sexual problems. You should stop using your medication and call your doctor if you experience chest pain, fast heartbeats, confusion or paranoia, new behavior problems, numbness or pain in extremities, vision changes, or unexplained muscle pain.

Keep your medication at room temperature away from any moisture and heat. Keep the bottle closed tightly when not in use.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Adzenys XR-ODT. Also, do not drink fruit juice or take vitamins or supplements that contain vitamin C at the same time you take amphetamine as these can prevent your body from absorbing the medication efficiently. Furthermore, this medication can impair your thinking and reactions. Be cautious when driving or engaging in activity that requires alertness.

Adzenys XR-ODT is a brand name for amphetamine. Other brand names are Dyanavel XR and Evekeo, which is also used to treat other conditions. There is no generic version currently available.
